Return of files for revision

Dear Parents,

Please note that I have returned 3 files to the children for revision purposes [SA1 Exams].

-> RED [English Workbook pages - coloured worksheets
-> GREEN [SEED Worksheets + worksheets]
-> BLUE [Maths Workbook, Homework book + worksheets]

There are still a few more worksheets for filing and I seek your cooperation in helping your child file them up as I return them by next week. Please go through all the worksheets with your child and sign where necessary. All worksheets are filed properly [according to dates, latest ones on top]. Please ensure that they will still be in this order when I collect them after the exams.

For both Red and Green [English] files, kindly check that your child has Units 1 - 7 [most important] by this coming week [Unit 7 not completed yet, will return within the week]. Besides these units, there are of course, additional worksheets filed in.

For the Blue [Maths] file, kindly check that your child has Units 1 - 9, Two Review 1, Review 2, and Revision Test [most important] by this coming week.

For this entire week, I will be letting the children do Exam Practice papers [English and Maths] in an exam setting environment [No discussion/talking]. Last Friday, the children have done 1 English Practice Exam. I will return a total of 2 English and 2 Maths Exam Practice papers by this week. The marks that your child has obtained for the Practice papers will give you a rough idea of how they might perform for the actual exams.

I was very strict in the marking so that the children will realize that every careless mistake will cause some precious marks to be lost. I realized that many of them are still not trying their best and are careless in their work. However, there is still time to improve, and I hope that all children will use the remaining time to revise hard and rise to the occasion on the exam days! Kindly go through all these papers a few times over with your child to prep them up. Also, not forgetting the English and Maths Textbooks 1A which are both useful in their revision. Thank you.

Learning Journey to Kids Kampong!

Dear all,

We went to Kids Kampong yesterday and the children had a marvellous time! Their wide smiles in the following pictures say it all. It was so much fun! (mentioned by all) The children experienced feeding and petting of the farm animals, fishing and also bonding with their friends. The learning journey was made complete with appropriate worksheet activities. It is definitely a trip the children will remember in a long time =)

I'll like to extend my thanks to Mrs Chew [Mother of Keefe], Mrs Lam [Mother of Zi Yang] and Mrs Tan [Mother of Samantha] in helping me throughout the entire learning journey. I appreciate all the assistance =)

There were 3 main segments of the Kids Kampong programme, namely 'Feeding', 'Pets Corner' [Petting/ Looking at animals] and 'Fishing'. Enjoy the slideshow below! (The loading might take some time)

*As the class was split for the Learning Journey, I seek your understanding if there are fewer photos of the group which I did not accompany.

Star Pupils of March!

Dear all,

Presenting our Class Image hosting by PhotobucketStar
Image hosting by Photobucket Pupils of March!

They are, in no particular order of merit,

  • Glenda Cheung
  • Gini Wong

These children have exhibited our school core values through action and speech and have been observed to demonstrate the values and character traits such as sharing, trustworthy, affective and responsible.

Both girls are role models for their other classmates and I hope that they will continue exhibiting these character traits throughout the year and for the rest of their lives =)

International Friendship Day

Dear all,

On 16th April, we celebrated International Friendship Day. Some of the children came in their colourful array of traditional costumes, making the celebration even livelier. You would have realized that we had a class item prepared for this special day as your child would have been practicing the Japanese anthem at home. (Our class chose 'Japan' as our 'Ambassador' country)

Really proud of our 4 ambassadors, namely Kyna, Gini, Bryan and Kenji who performed wonderfully in the short skit, as well as the rest of the children in the class who sang really well. We managed to clinch the 1st runner up prize for the 'Ambassadors of the World Pageant' in the P1 level! *Happiness* I hope the children had a good experience during the process of preparing for the performance item. Enjoy the photos below as well as the performance video clip!

Sports Day

Dear all,

We had our Sports Day last Friday, where the Richardson and Dryburgh won the gold and silver trophies respectively. The other houses did fantastically well too! I was glad that there had been no disqualifying cases for our class, which means that the children really competed fairly against each other. Well done! Enjoy the slide show and short video clip below =)

Preparation for Oral Examination

Dear parents,

Your child would have brought back 'Oral Exam tips' and a 'Vocabulary List of words' today. Please ensure that they bring both sets of papers to school everyday as I would be going through the information with them in preparation for the Oral Examination. I urge all parents to take the time to read and revise through the tips and the vocab list with your child too. This would help to better prepare him/her for the exam. Thank you.

Please take note that the Lower Primary Sports Day is on this coming Thursday (5th April). Pupils are to report to the hall by 7 a.m. and will be dismissed at 9.30 a.m. There will be no lessons on that day and pupils do not need to bring any books to school.
